    What is 5-axis CNC machining?

Conventional 3-axis CNC machining moves a cutting tool along the X, Y, and Z axes. A 5-axis machining center adds two rotational axes, allowing the tool or workpiece to be repositioned continuously during a single setup. Complex curved surfaces, undercuts, and deep cavities that would need multiple setups on a 3-axis machine can be completed in one pass — reducing setup time, improving accuracy, and enabling geometries that are impossible on conventional machines.
